The University of Arizona, Tucson Retail, LLC and KB Home/US Lennar Homes have undertaken a major mixed-use project that will excite Tucson residents and enhance economic development in Southern Arizona. Tucson Retail, LLC will create Tucson Marketplace at The Bridges, a state-of-the-art, ±1,000,000 square-foot retail center. Tucson Marketplace is proposed to be anchored by Costco and other nationally-known general merchandise, grocery and home improvement stores and smaller, category-specific retailers. Proposed cafes, restaurants, banks, movie theaters and other lifestyle-oriented specialty shops and services will meet the needs of the neighborhood, the Biosciences Park employees, and shoppers in the region from as far south as Mexico. The retail center’s design is locally-influenced with significant and timeless architectural details, extensive indigenous landscaping, bus routes, pedestrian walks and bike paths connecting with existing Tucson trails. Tucson Marketplace will be an important component in meeting the live-work-play goals of The Bridges, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and providing jobs and services for Tucsonans.
